Dimensional sign making
Large-format 3D printing can help create dimensional letters, shaped sign components and forms that a flat panel cannot provide. DSS’s dedicated letter printer has a 1200 × 1200 × 100 mm build envelope for low-profile elements.
Printing can be one step in a wider sign build that also calls for finishing, lighting, fabrication and installation planning. For the COFFEE project shown below, DSS 3D-printed the letter bodies in carbon-fibre material, created inner and outer LED paths and built a remote-controlled mechanism that raises the sign from a roof and folds it flat when retracted.

Completed project · AFL Grand Final
DSS brought extensive 3D printing, custom display work and LED lighting together for a Virgin Australia-branded activation at the AFL Grand Final.
The project combined extensive 3D printing with flags, displays, light posts and printed ground inlays. LED lighting highlighted the giveaway display and branded floor area.
DSS also coded the interactive prize system in-house. Randomised prize allocation accommodated a limited number of jackpots and multiple smaller prizes, bringing the programmed interaction and physical display together.
From printed components and graphics to lighting and custom programming, DSS handled this work in-house. The completed project shows how 3D printing can form part of a larger event build.
